Hijos dictarán conferencia en la UASD

Los hijos del coronel Francisco Alberto Caamaño Deñó y Ernesto Che Guevara, mayor del Ejército Nacional dominicano, Francis Caamaño Acevedo y Ernesto Guevara March, dictarán una conferencia el 12 de junio titulada “Dos Grandes de América: el Che y Caamaño”, en el Aula Magna de la Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD).
El anuncio lo hicieron el rector de la universidad estatal dominicana, doctor Franklin García Fermín, y el hijo del líder de la Revolución de Abril de 1965, durante una visita que Caamaño Acevedo le hizo al primero a su despacho.

García Fermín explicó que el evento tiene como motivo la celebración del nacimiento de ambos héroes y líderes revolucionarios, al tiempo de decir que Caamaño Deñó nació el 11 de junio y Guevara el día 14.

Concierto con Los Guaraguao
La actividad también incluye un concierto con el conjunto musical venezolano Los Guaraguao, que estuvo recientemente en la República Dominicana, ofreciendo varias presentaciones en la UASD.

Caamaño Deñó es considerado como el héroe dominicano de mayor relevancia del siglo XX en la República Dominicana, por encabezar y ser el líder de la Revolución de Abril de 1965 y por haber enfrentado la intervención norteamericana de ese año. Nació el 11 de junio de 1932 y murió asesinado el 16 de febrero de 1973, durante un desembarco guerrillero por Playa Caracoles, en Azua.
El Che Guevara
En tanto, Guevara fue uno de los líderes de la Revolución Cubana, en los años sesenta del siglo pasado se estableció con un pequeño grupo guerrillero en Bolivia, donde fue capturado y ejecutado de manera clandestina por el Ejército de ese país con colaboración de la Central de Inteligencia Americana (CIA). Nació el 14 de junio de 1928, en Argentina, y murió en La Higuera, Bolivia, el 9 de octubre de 1967.
